French Oak Trading Company warrants that this timber is genuine antique timber and is salvaged from genuine antique sites. French Oak Trading Company warrants that this timber is unique and that no two boards, beams or panels are the same. The samples that we have can therefore only be indicative of your beautiful timber, however we endeavour to achieve a look as close as possible to the samples. Why this timber is so special is that it is antique and unique. Timbers are reclaimed from old barns, buildings, homes, warehouses and public buildings. The timber goes through a rigorous process where any metal is removed, cleaned, clipped and kiln dried. The planks, beams and parquetry panels and blocks will have unique characteristics, such as heavy grain pattern and feature knots and splits.
French Oak Trading Company warrants that the product will not warp, cup, shrink or expand under correct installation, normal use and proper maintenance. If you discover a defect in the product covered under this warranty, we will repair or replace at our option.
French Oak Trading Company warrants that your product is unfinished (raw) and is composed of solid antique French Oak either as beams or planks cut to random widths from 120mm to 240mm (based on availability). Whilst original oil alone is an effective finish, your French Oak timber can be waxed and buffed to further enhance its patina. This may require more maintenance effort but the patina created is an unrivaled quality finish.
French Oak Trading Company warrants that this is a natural product, as such, it is reasonable to expect variations in colouring, grain, texture and characteristics such as knots, medinas and rays.
